Reefer still sucks and to the guy who says to run it continously, it burns a quarter per day doing that and that is OK if the truck stop is near the receiver but most stinky meat loads are out in the middle of nowhere and they wont let you in unless you have 3/4 fuel.

That was probably me. I ran the same product to the same customers and never had to play the fuel level games. But you're right, reefer does suck. Used to spend four hours a week loading that product in Garland. Never got much compensation for that time. I was young and dumb with no intentions of becoming old and stupid.

Wasn't going to get into this but.....somethings to keep in mind
    There is no perfect job...
The key is to find your niche&stay w/it
Any Decent reefer out will pay a driver for waitin....weather the company gets paid or not....All the companies that haul meat either get detention time or have figured an avg and hid it in the rate....
You must have a minimum of 5 Years all weather crystal clean driving experience to get on w/one of the real decent outfits of anykind....
You won't find these jobs advertised.....cuz they don't need to.....
Lastly to the Continuous uses more fuel bunch....you might want to test that theory...cuz imho over the last 40 odd years that has never been the case....
And lol tip for all that sittin in the door....go out see what trl temp is at....while the unit is screaming on hi speed....raise temp to interior temp....put on continuos....let it purr gently....loaders won't know the difference....cuz...unit is runnin....and for all you newer folks who might actually won't to do this for a living....learn a little about the unit you're using....there is a hi&low speed circuit....either can be disabled...hint...hint...;)

Magnum, out of Fargo North Dakota. Good so far, they they don't con you to get you in the door. Honest people. Proactive not reactive.

Yeah, check out Magnum. We have newer equipment and generally you can avoid pulling the Carrier units if your on your game. The difference between Thermo King and Carrier units is like night and day... "Whisper" is important to my downtime!

Totally agree. Some units such as older Carriers have an already built in plug that can be unplugged, and it disables high speed. Others, or should I say most units, do not have it, so I just cut the wire and put a disconnect in them. High speed consumes the fuel, low speed continuous, not so much.

I was going to apply to Magnum years ago until I found out they have 65 mph trucks.
