Hmm had buddy get pulled in there tput out of service for cracked breaks had put them on just two weeks before. The service guy came pulled apart and went what the heck is he talking about. Put the wheels back together charged him $100 and signed off. Nothing done at all.

Had a DOT in Ohio argue with me once on an air leak once it was the drive height adjusting. Finished the trailer then came back up front no more air leak but still wrote me up.

Heard this gem from my dad years ago on how to deal with idiot DOT cops. Just smile and chuckle to yourself every few minutes... When the cop asks what is so funny say "This is all part of making a couple hundred grand a year.. watching $40,000 a year rent-a-cops try to upset me".

So, ask the trooper to show you where the air leak is, that you cannot find it. Right there as he is explaining the inspection report and asking you to sign it - ask him to show you. Not in a combative way, just asking for help. If he won't show you, he is an arse. If he can't find it or can't show you, ask that it be removed from the inspection report. ESPECIALLY for an OOS violation.

How is one pancake leak OOS? (unless it was so bad you could not maintain air pressure)

Sir - when you inspect vehicles .. do you require the hardcopy of the paperwork or go by the sticker on the truck? if there is no sticker... the paperwork does cover that? Correct.

For IFTA - sticker does not matter. Paper IFTA license is what we look for.

For Federal Annual inspection - either sticker or paperwork will suffice.

Wish I had you as the officer then. I got nailed with violations that were not supposed to be given. My company filed a DATAQ dispute. Sigh.

Anderson(Knox?) , and Haywood appear to be the counties that have scale houses.
So I was guessing off the 40 and forgetting about Haywood just assumed it was Anderson.
