DOT brake scanners.

    There are some coops that have and are getting roll-by thermal scanners. They are mounted out on the mast where the cams and other sensors are located at the entry to the scale. As you slow down to ramp speed, the roll-by scanners pick up the heat from your brake action - a computer analyzes the data, a cold axle means no brake and it signals the operator that they need to perform an inspection. They are already in use, although not widespread - - YET.

    oh, ok, i cannot say for sure when i had been into a scale-house last. it has been maybe at the very least, 10+ years i have had no dealings with scale-houses.

    If this were truly all about safety as they claim, every scale house would be open 24/7.
