Yeah, I got cut off by one this morning on 80/90 in Indiana. I guess running the posted speed limit was just too slow for him.

Crazy. I thought they had all company and lease purchase drivers.

 

He must've been an O/O. I was cruising at 65, and went by me fast enough to almost peel the stickers off my truck. Also dove in front of me so close I couldn't read the trailer license plate. Good thing I pay attention for idiots like that.

 

The online newspaper item has been updated with video. But I guess I don't understand. The Swift tractor ran into the back of the watermelon hauler. The Swift tractor was destroyed and it says the two Swift drivers were scene at a hospital and released.

The watermelon hauler was driving a Pete, and looks unscratched. So you are saying the driver of the Pete died? I suppose the impact is definitely severe enough to do that. Anyway, when the Trooper is saying you are at fault, and it is published in the newspaper, the company and the driver are really screwed.

I honestly don't know how these megas survive these spectacular crashes financially.

I was the passenger in the swift truck that day. Needless to say that day ####ing sucked!!! Apparently the guy i was with fell asleep. Dude had only driven 3 hours. I got maybe an hour in of sleep, being awake about 25 hrs before that because i was forced dispatched at the last second even though I had been calling to get something to leave that day and they told me not till tomorrow. So I didn't sleep. He slept all night. Got that hour in and then total chaos. Truck spilt open and I fell over the side of the frame, was in a little space, could see the tires and trailer comings at me then it just stopped. Went running to the driver, thinking he was dead, but he was just slumped over, i got pissed started yelling Wtf Wtf man!!! He was oblivious. Got check at the hospital and swift told me if I could take a bus home they'd try and reimburse me, #### that. I rented a car out of my own pocket and drove home with the driver just sleeping the entire way. Lost everything, tv, fridge, xbox, inverter, ###### cb antennas, a galaxy radio, clothes, a ton of tools (my #### Makita impact you can see in the teal box in the picture), and my hard drive with a #### load of music shows movies and a bunch of family photos. The driver was a rookie, had just finished his trainer about a month before the accident and I was teamed with him on a dedicated fleet, was showing him the routes and customers. Following 2 weeks was nothing but pain, nothing broke, but i had crazy deep bruising all over my body, other guy just got a cut on his leg. State trooper was baffled that I was up and still coherent, they said i took most of the impact woozy as #### l, but aware unlike the driver. And it was a company truck he hit at 62.

And they spelled my last name wrong. What a day that was
