    It's a revolving door....
Drove mostly cabovers for Machinery Hauling, H&W Trucking now (Best Specialized) and Powers Enterprise. Everybody wanted a conventional "it was the cool thing" or at least it seemed, and yes they were safer during an accident. But now it seems the Cabover is becoming the "In Thing" for some at least. Never had a problem with cabovers myself, at that time I was 6'-2" 187 lbs and could jump in and out with no problems. Have a Transtar II myself 855/13.

When I bought my project W900A, I drove it down the driveway after it got dropped off and that was pretty much when I decided the Hendrickson rubber block was getting chopped out. Did not like how bouncy it was back there in 3rd gear. Couldn't imagine how bad it would be at highway speeds.

Ever since the Argosy got re-designed a couple years back I've noticed a lot more of them around lately.

I know in Europe they have length regulations, so almost every truck is a cabover (shorter tractor means longer trailer and more load space). But they envy our conventional layout. Easier to get in and out of?

Every conventional I ever got in I could do so by simply holding on to the door, try that with a Cabover and you just might need help getting up off the ground...:)

I can still get in and out of them just fine. It's the standard of living in them that I don't want to ever go back to.

Your in luck, I have a 1979 K100 with a 350 BC1 (not stock), RTO 12513, with SQHD 3;70's. 96" sleeper cab. Short wheelbase though, 165 if I remember right. And sits on KW's 3 leaf tapered Glide Ride suspension. Its been sitting for about 8 years since I bought my pete.
