Hello,
Was a fresh out of school commercial driver earlier this year, but next month (October) will mark six months of clean CDL Class-A driving experience. Currently working Flat-Bet where I normally have 42FT trailers, but also sometimes 48FT Spread/Tri Axel trailers. Currently grossing around $1250 working five days a week or around $1350 if I work six days a week (normally 12 to 14 hours a day regardless). My plan was to stick it out for a year and keep banking my paychecks as I want to relocate and purchase a home once I hit a year experience.
I have Class-A CDL with Tank/HazMat, Doubles/Triples, Tow Truck and Metal Coil Endorsements.
Also have OSHA-10 General Industry, Hydrogen Sulfide Awareness, TWIC, FAST and Passport.
Should I consider other companies next month?
Could I take home a lot more money if I did?
Or should I stick it out another six months where I am?
Thanks

If it were me, would stay there another 6 months.
Looks better on your home loan application also that you're not a job hopper.
Out of curiosity; any idea where you plan to relocate? -
Thinking North/South Carolina for right now, but that could change.
-
They're both good states for living. I lived in Charleston, SC when I was real young. When I pulled tankers out of Nashville, TN used to deliver to Goose Creek, SC about once or twice a month. I'm a transplant to Las Vegas now. The reason we moved to Las Vegas is because I was tired of Tennessee(my home state) and like the weather in Southern Nevada plus no personal income taxes.

Great pay great company why leave unless your relocating i'd stay put for at least another 6-8 months.

Can't blame you for wanting to get out of the northeast. NC/SC are pretty good choices, and they are a little easier on the wallet, when compared to NY State. I live in Virginia, but will be heading a little further south myself when this house is paid off in a few years.

You could stay where you are, but apply to a few companies. Make sure that you check the 'ok to contact current employer' box on the app. If your current employer likes you, you'll suddenly see some positive changes to your pay.
