I have looked at a few local companies and I have been offered a couple of jobs, one of which being with the local OTR company I worked for years ago. There is a local flat bed company that I still need to look into. I'm not ruling anything out yet and I am open to anything, but I am leaning towards a larger or out of state carrier mainly for the tuition reimbursement factor.

Definitely sounds like you are doing your homework on this. Best of luck, and depending on which flat bed company you are talking about maybe we will cross paths.

Thank you. It is a big decision and one to be taken seriously. I'm going to look into a small flatbed company out of Bethel. Regardless, I'll be back on the road soon and am really looking forward to it!

One last question then I will stop hijacking your thread I promise. I work for a smaller company (7 trucks, not in bethel) and we have had a hard time like everyone with finding qualified drivers. Where did you look for jobs? We've tried Craig's list and the paper but limited results. Thanks

No problem. I've looked at Craigslist and also indeed.com. I check them daily, but always see the same ones over and over. I also go on mymainejob.com it is a website sponsored by Northeast Technical Institute, where I'm going to school. But the same deal, a lot of the same jobs posted over and over again. Where is your company out of?

I haven't yet but I definitely should I've just been a little hesitant because even though I have experience it has been 10 years since I drove OTR last. I see their trucks all the time. Actually, I'll check them out right now. Thanks!

    KenworthGuyNH Thanks this.

Check out Superior Carriers, terminal in Auburn. We are hiring :) I do mostly OTR, but we have A LOT of local/regional and pay is good.

Also jobsinme.com is a good resource to post/find driving jobs. They have categories like "transportation/logisitics," and "drivers."
