On my way out of town this morning I grabbed some groceries. I grabbed some tea called G.T. Kombucha. Looked good and had some healthy propaganda on the label.

So, I'm getting shut down for the night, and I'm about to try this tea. I'm reading through the label and realize it contains alcohol? !!!! Wtf. Why wouldn't they label this better? I bet a kid could buy these and the store wouldn't even realize it. These teas weren't in the alcoholic section, they were next to the Kiefer yogarts... which I'm now finding out contain alcohol as well.

Here's a link to more info. Some of these Kombucha teas have more alcohol than a miller lite beer!

My android phone is having an issue posting links lately. Just Google Kombucha tea and alcohol and reply with a link if you can.

Glad I didn't get a random cooler search today, because I was unwittingly hauling booze around. I love those Kiefer cultured milk things too, but I need to dig through the regs more.

I just found out about the stuff today. I need to be more careful about what fermented products I allow in my cooler. Heck, I could forget about a bottle of juice stored in the cabinet, and get busted for prison wine.

    Officer: "Is this hooch?"

    Me: "uh, er, what? !"

    http://www.getkombucha.com/kombucha-alcohol-level/

"Those are just a few factors, generally following the basic Kombucha recipe that we have on our site, you’re looking at if you’re a home brewer, you’re looking at around 0.05-1% alcohol content, what does that mean?

Well a beer is usually anywhere from 3.5-6%, so at high levels Kombucha let’s say is 1% if you’re home brewing, so it’s about a quarter to a fifth of a beer, so drinking a 12 ounce bottle of Kombucha is like drinking 2-3 ounces of beer."
