How about all the brokers stop for one week, we could call it freedom week, nobody eating the pie that doesn't work for it

It would be the best thing to happen to trucking in a long time.

Maybe we should let them keep a larger percentage to make sure they don't go out of business. I hate seeing anyone that works as hard as a broker struggling.

I thinking we should all haul for $1 per mile to help and support them.

That's laughable. If that were the case, rates would remain constant or rise with or without brokers. And with few exceptions, they haven't done that since de-regulation. Even during the days of trip- leasing some steering wheel holder who couldn't stay in business over night without a fuel advance would come in and want to run the same freight you've been hauling for less money.

As long as there are employees who pretend to be business owners, rates will suffer. The only exceptions are during the ends of the bell curve like we saw in recent years, when the market, not drivers demanded drastic increases. If you can't close a new customer without offering a savings, you need to re-evaluate your role in the market.

Doesn't matter if it's common or contract, you can take direct freight. That's the most absurd thing i've heard in a long time. Don't just say so, show ther CFR.
