well I found out my Kenworth t600 which I was told when bought had 550 hp. Found out the other day is has 455 and that extra is my wire harness on the cat 3406e 5ek model. And I just over hauled the thing and just finding out that I could have uped the power then. Is there stuff I can do to up the power besides changing the turbo I all ready changed turbo and water oil pump and injectors.. What else can I do to up the power. I am really confused on what to do I really wanted a 500 hp with 13 and 3:73 or some where around there. My truck has 3:36 ratio and 10 sp. I really got suckered in this truck but it's been two years now that I thought what I wish I knew now. Does it make sense to put another 10k into the truck for new paint job 13 spd trans and other things or better to change for like a 03 western star that he the setup that I want with 300k on oh. Mine only has 8 k on oh. i customed painted the interior myself. So I put a lot of work into the truck sweat . But if I would ha e known I would have maybe not put so much sweat. So let me hear your input thanks :)

I think, if it's been performing ok, I'd just keep it awhile. Take the time to be real thorough in researching your next truck. You've had this one 2 years, unless I misunderstood. So no real hurry to unload it now.

Just my two pennies , but if you recently rebuilt the motor , and everything else is sorted out , I would keep it . THEN , I would look at replacing the 10 speed with a 13 . A 10 speed with 3:36 rears wouldn't work for me . I think you can get an ECM flash on your motor as well to increase horsepower , and if I am wrong , I will be corrected shortly .

Just go to the diesel Dr and he could uprate your motor to the max that it could take without harming anything. By the way most of them can take 550 hp no problem by a simple tune. He'll get your serial number and it'll tell him the most you can uprate

Effingham, IL and Kenly, NC Google both places. They have a 3rd location but I can't remember.

horse power is a waste of money its torque that make power. You will not feel any difference in 50 hp. See what your drive train is rated for most are set for 1650 tq if so your looking at tearing up your driveling going with big power.

If it had enough power for you until someone else told you it didn't: why change it all now?

Yes, you could've had it uprated. But you were happy with the power you had, so you didn't ask for more. What's the problem: someone told you the grass is greener.

If you just rebuilt it, stick with it.
