Left lane ticket on I-65 in Indiana

You gotta be careful , move over to let a car merge or something similar and get a ticket
Cali got me twice
I got the points dropped but the fines and fees were close to 800 bucks

I was pulled over on 9/2/15 and received a ticket for being in a restricted lane (far left lane). This happened on I-65 northbound right outside of Indianapolis, IN.

I was already in the middle lane coming up on slow poke TMC in the right lane and a 4 wheeler creeping up to the driver. Well the 4 wheeler does what they all do when approaching a truck and rides the brakes.

Rather then slam on my brakes, I simply run the left lane and pass the two. As soon as I move back in the middle lane the silly state trooper that was on the left shoulder hunts me down and gives me the lights. I was in the left lane for less then 1/4 mile doing maybe 70 so I passed the two very quickly and came back over!

Not familiar exactly with Indiana laws, but should I hire a lawyer to fight this ticket? Or will I just be wasting time and extra money.

Chalk it up as hopefully a lesson learned.Don't be in such a hurry and takes those signs seriously.Believe it or not signs are not posted for decoration.You know what you need to do when approaching a vehicle,ease up on the accelerator.No need to be in a hurry,you'll still get where you need to be right on time.
