Unless an employer specifies, and most that specify will pay for it. Just saying.

About the offenses, I don't know. I have heard a felony will not necessarily disqualify you from the TWIC but have a question weather any trucking company's insurance will allow a felony hit and run driver on the payroll.

 

Sure. good luck to ya. You are in a tough situation. I honestly do not think you will have a problem getting a TWIC, but I don't know enough to say for sure.

 

Try Apergis Transportation. Probably don't need TWIC.
Did you check Craigslist/transportation jobs?

 

From their list it seems you SHOULD be ok, but I'd be more worried about a felony hit and run and the 2 possession charges. Does the prospective company know about those? If so and thier ok with them then hurry up and apply for TWIC becuase many companies won't go near you with that combo of convictions.

 

Is TWIC just for ports, or do you need it for railroad yards too?

 

if you have a felony conviction YOU will be denied. but you have 60 days to appeal . if you can get it expunged that will help. I was arrested in Arkansas 3 yrs ago on a felony charge. case was dismissed not convicted. and I was denied my card. still in proses of appeal.
