My tire blew out from the sidewall but the tech was pretty sure that belt spot wasn't recent. This trailer came out of Mexico so who knows what happened down there lol

I've spent plenty replacing oddly worn tires. There's two things that will do that sort of random wear pattern.
Number one is a bruised casing. Especially on a Chinese tire, or one that is or used to be on a steer. The Chinese tires just aren't constructed as well. Steer tires are almost always near or at max capacity and take bumps the hardest. A Chinese tire on a steer is doubly likely to fail like this.
On a trailer position, provided the tire isn't a sketchy old steer tire that was rotated back, it's gonna be bearings or adjustment, shocks, or bushings in that order of likelihood.
Without any further detail, the trailer tire pictured looks like a damaged casing. Especially if the other 7 tires are wearing ok. Could have been curbed real bad, with the resulting out of round condition resulting in the wear you see.Rocks, Vilhiem, chopper103in and 2 others Thank this. -
