I know where I am there are schools with programs set up just for people who only need a minimal amount of training, like to the point where its just a matter of getting use to there equipment to pass a road test and its pretty cheap. I would start by seeing if there is anything like that you could do and get your cdl back that way. Sounds like you have 10 years or so of experience which should all be documented somewhere. As long as you have no accidents or mishaps and a clean record I think a good company looking for good drivers will overlook the small gap in there. With your amount of experience there is no way would I go to some mega somewhere and do a year of there silly program. Id rather deliver pizzas.
How do I get back into trucking?

Lol, right? I don't wanna go back through all the BS, I do have a clean record all across the board & thank you for that suggestion. Will get on the Internet @ call around. I contacted Henderson Academy just in case I hit too many roadblocks.

You're a girl and say "tee hee" so I'm obligated to help.
Call the local schools like these guys said.
Step 1 - go to dmv, take written test for combination vehicles and air brakes. ($40)
Step 2 - go to school, show new DMV permit, rent truck, pay tester ($??... call them)
Step 3 - shiny new license
Step 4 - current med card
Step 5 - profit -
I like the way u break it down mister, thank u, I will get on the phone & check that out. I talked with a company sponsored training program yesterday ( much to my disgust....teehee)& they said I couldn't take a refresher course because I no longer have a CDL & it's been over 2 years, but I'm not giving up cause I know there's a better way than having to go back through all that again. Thx 4 the advice & I wish u a good day.

Looking for an update!
Gawd.....it's hell being teased! -
Best advice about backing is to go slow, and don't back into trucks.
That girl rocks Thanks this. -
I wish I had something to report, I am being told the same thing over & over. If I wasn't such a hardheaded lady, I would just give up, but I can't & I won't. Henderson Academy said I need to resubmit my app online again. It's just not getting thru & Stevens is going to call me back in a few days & let me know if I can attend their training program......(go figure)
Thanks for ur inquiry, when I know more, I will let ya know. Hope u have a good day....
otherhalftw Thanks this. -
If you have a relative in laredo fake move in with them and use the cities grant money for truck drivers.
Lots of programs in Laredo free of charge to locals. -
No lifd
no kidding? Depending on how long that would take, I could get a cheap motel room. I appreciate u telling me that. I'm still trying to get it all worked out & I don't wanna have to go back thru a CSTP if I don't have to.
