I am going to stay for six (6) months so that I don't have a work history which shows that I changed jobs every other week. In my last job, I was there for 19 months, and will have been on this one for six months. These are the only two (2) jobs that I have had in oil field trucking. II think it shows some stability. Next month, November, begins month five (5), then October, and then out to another job.

The short answer is no, not all the crude oil hauling company's are the same. It's important to be aware in your next search to make sure your going to work for a company that's actually buying the oil your hauling, for example non third party/fly by night outfits.

any other questions feel free to PM me.

    This.

You want to work for the company whose name and lease number are stenciled on the tanks.

I'm not sure that it's really all that big of a deal. Only one time has anyone asked me why I went through three companies my first year. Once in a while I see an add that says "no more than x companies in y years", but unless you've been getting fired from those companies, an interviewer probably isn't going to care. They know you're in it for the money: if not, you wouldn't be doing it.

This is expecialy true in the oilfield, where contracts come and go every day.

    Glenn71, and All

Thanks for your input, and interest. I am going to tough it out for six (6) months for a second reason other than to show perspective (future) employers stability, the second reason is, "I did not have any prior experience hauling crude oil." So, I needed to get trained somewhere. Next month (November) marks the beginning of month six! In mid November am going to start to apply at other places.

I am not sure that I totally agree with you when you write that companies don't care about how often one switches positions. Up until about this time last year, I would have been nodding in agreement, but things have changed with the oil slump. Employers can now be real picky because they have a bumper crop of CDL drivers with varying levels of experience to choose from.

Y'all, every day I have to keep reminding myself, just "X" more weeks! I am not going to sit here and chronicle all of the crap that goes wrong on a daily basis, and your time is too important to read the endless list of crap that I deal with. But, this has been a learning experience. Now I know. I'll post updates as/when I move on, and maybe, after I am gone from my present position, I might name the outfit so that none of you all step into the pile of doo-doo that I did.

No worries. It certainly won't hurt you any to stick around. I was just making an observation from personal experience. Do what you think is best and you'll be fine.
