Something you might consider is if you want to keep it have an oil sample done on your engine, trans, and rear ends. Also a dyno to see how she is holding up. If all looks good hang on to it,should get plenty more miles out of it. I have been in your shoes and my thought was the same, I hung on and got through it and it gets better. Now I'm making plans for a new glider next year. Good luck with what ever you decide.

How many miles a year do you do? Personally I would keep it if your doing less than 80,000 a year. Plus where are rates going? If they are improving, than new isn't a bad idea.

I'd say stick with the devil you know, that's just my 2 cents. At least you know what you have into it. As for the 2014 pete, You've got to figure a truck that new with that many miles had to have been ridden hard and put away wet.

Not very accurate to look at payment only, because with every payment your payoff goes down and you're building equity.

Value drops faster than the equity builds. A truck is NOT and investment, it is a tool and nothing but a tool.

    How
How did you figure that? If not considering brand new trucks and looking at 2-3 year old, they depreciate roughly $10k/year. So if you're paying $2500/mo of which around $2200 (depending on your rate) goes towards the principal while value drops about $1000/mo, you have built $1200 in equity every month. So if you look at long term the real cost is 2500-1200=1300/mo.
