I have run Edmonton and fort McMurray many times. I'm from winnipeg.
Looking at the forecast it's not supposed to go below freezing or snow in Whitehorse for a week. But even this prairie driver knows that doesn't mean jack when you have elevation.
Two more questions:
1) what are the odds of me having to throw chains?
2) what kind of time will I make? 2200 km from Fort mcmurray, 600 hp and 20k on the deck. Will that take more than two full days? I should have 2.5 days to get there to empty first thing Monday but I want to boogie back to Edmonton for a reload Wednesday morning.

Also maybe I should go have a chat with that radio guy in sherwood park. If he's even still there.

Once... in 1984

About a million times to Fort Nelson and area though, and about the same to Yellowknife. And a whole bunch out to Prince Rupert and various and sundry places accessed by goat trails all around. -
Post some photos,plzzzzz

He's still there. You don't need a radio. A properly set up VHF radio is VERY expensive and you don't really need it for the highway. The VHF off-highway position reporting can be annoying when you are traveling near logging roads and pipeline roads and I leave the VHF off most of the time when traveling on the highway. Unless you are on the Stewart-Cassiar or Campbell Highways you can't use VHF for idle ####-chat like a CB and even then VHF is not supposed to be for ####-chat. You can block someone reporting their position and cause a head-on collision.

Just my opinion but grassland isn't all that bad with the new husky that went in and the subway across the road. The deli beside it is supposed to be good too. But I do agree that restaurant in the flying j is a rip off lol the 63 is getting nicer with alot more of the new highway opened up. It started snowing this time last year for me up in northern bc so you never know when the snows going to come

Things went pretty well, saw every wildlife possible except bears. Ended up deadheading 1500 miles to get a load. Will post more later.

Cheapest spot for fuel around Edmonton in my experience is Westlock (about 45 minutes north west of Edmonton). It always seems to be anywhere from the high 0.90s to about 1.25ish when the prices are super inflated.

I'm in Whitehorse now n gonna leave the truckstop n head for Inuvik. Fuel in Edmonton was 91.9 on Wednesday at the Husky n yesterday it was 110.9 at the Tags in Watson.
