I have owned brand new. I now have a 1993 with a whole lot of money in it. You could say that I have been on both sides of the coin. I cringe when I see a shiny newer truck. That feeling passes quickly when it is possible to sit at home when I want to, or when work is slow, or to say no to cheap loads and sorry shippers. Give me the devil I know and I will go with him. Now you have .02 worth of advice from one more ?.

Agreed.. married to mine now too. I never liked this truck. I'm more of a Pete or KW guy. Columbia is an ugly truck.
I spent all the money I had been saving for another truck to redo the motor in this on. I've gotta run it for at least 3 more years before I can even start looking at other trucks. Not unless I want a divorce from my real wife. LOLglitterglue Thanks this. -
I've got an 05 with pre emissions C15. Paid $20k for it. I've got maybe $40k all in on this truck and besides my one little hick up that was my fault.. it been very reliable. And now after rebuild, I'm seeing honest 5.9 - 6.5 mpg tanks fully loaded. I do step deck.
Ugly yes.. would I rather have a KW or Pete.. hmm you need to ask? But Freightliner suspension is pretty simple and tough. Once you get on top of the little things and work out the rattles in the interior.. they are pretty reliable money makers.
HurstThe_Great_Corn and Grijon Thank this. -
Sounds familiar i have an 09 international prostar with 733k on it and iam hearing a popping sound when i make a right hand turn i put my hand on the powerdivider as my buddy drove the truck around slowly back and forth to make it pop and it finaly did and thepop is coming from the front cone of the power divider dealership checked and confirmed so they put in 2 new driveshaft new diffs and rebushed rear suspension but its still there any one have idea what it is getting tired of replacing parts that dont fix it as you read youcan see that i completely rebuilt the rear end and i put 8 new drives on
