They're always hiring around here (N. FL) and run both O/O and company drivers. Not sure what the pay is, but like others said, it's looooooong days (around here loggers don't even know what HOS are, if you know what I mean), 6 days a week typically, hard on the equipment, and by the looks of the hands I've talked to, they certainly aren't getting rich. Again, like others said, I recommend you look into hauling chips first; you can get some info on the logging side, and learn the tricks of the trade. If you're not careful and your loader ain't on his game, it's not too hard to roll them suckers. Happens around here several times a year....

$1500 a week is doable, you'll be running your ### off though

IF you want to move to Norcal I would look at Bettendorf or SPI for chips. both have full benefits paid for the driver and year round work. Bettendorf will hire with a year exp. SPI says they want 2 years at least. Wheeler out of Red Bluff hauls logs and chips both out of the woods. Redwood Coast logging out of Arcata will train you to haul logs. It's 18.00 an hour but no benefits. but long hours. Also Leonardo out of Fortuna has nice trucks. Bettendorf is 16.20 an hour to start with benefits after 60 days. SPI's website says that to drive their log trucks they want 2 years driving log truck experience but idk how lenient they are on that

SPI will also have the nicest equipment anywhere around here. Bettendorf has decent trucks, but some are older. But SPI is also a little more anal about their rules and following them. Bettendorf is a very laid back place to work

Most companies in ga require at least one year experience for their insurance.you ALWAYS respect the load since most times your running 82 to 98000 lbs. Pay here usually averages 30% of what the truck brings in which is generally .125 to .13 per ton per mile. I usually start at 5 am and get home between 6 and 8pm.usually gross about 1100/week. Best advice is to look closely at companies equipment. A lot of junk out there but some companies do a good job of keeping their equipment up and that is so important when dot has a hard on for log trucks.

The guy to get a hold of for the job in Quincy is named Lauren. His number is 530-283-9767. I don't know who the company is. Might be SPI or it might be an o/o
