Grandad taught me that If you can't walk into the outhouse and throw that money down the commode and pull the chain, you got no business putting it on the gaming table.

Cruised the travel center and hit the bunk. Sun is coming up. Nice 360 view.

Time to get this load a little further down the road......

Load cancelled. They got us another one going to Groveport, OH that picks up Thursday at 9:30pm. Gonna hang out at the Pilot.

@FatDaddy, let's meet up tomorrow. We can drive to meet you. Can't let @flyingmusician and @Cranky Yankee have all the fun.

As promised, here is the Jeep that caused the first brake check in KY yesterday. This was a solo crash, no other vehicles involved. Kind of puzzling to consider how it had to hit that jersey barrier in a way to totally fold up the suspension and relatively minor body damage. At least on this side. I'm thinking this accident may have been caused by the missing reflective strips on the mudflap hangers. Probably not well rested either.

The bonus for last night was my trailer came out clean enough to not need a washout. So directly to the terminal without going the long way around to the Petro/Beacon and wasting another hour.

What really got me riled up last night was a needlessly complex check in process that involved lots of extra walking around due to piss poor unclear incomplete direction from the gate lady. The folks inside the plant were actually nice compared to most other places, and handled the trailer and offloading in decent time. It will go smoother if there is a next time, now that I know the code LOL.

Years ago when I delivered gas into and around Chicago, I had just finished dropping my load at a shell and I was hungry. Unfortunately, the diner part was closed at FM's other favorite fast food place (Wendy's). So being crafty and resourceful, I rolled up near the speaker and hopped out, placed my order, jumped back in the cab and swung it wide and pulled around the second window please. Hopped back out, payed for the food, and took off. Cost me maybe 5 minutes. The look on their faces, priceless.

Up until about 15 years ago, my grandparents farm up in Wisconsin actually had an outhouse. A fancy 2 seater. They didn't have a chain. Just a seat, and, you know.

I have a feeling depending on what time I get out of Laredo tomorrow I will only get as far as Waco with my available hours. Which sucks since I'm running right by that Pilot.
