Given the frugality of the company, I believe they are repurposed into office equipment and conveyor tracks. Come to think of it, those air freight containers look a little like the parcel vans.:biggrin_2559:

Some outfits that run simmilar trucks just replace the chassis and keep the old "cab".

When you find these missing trucks see if the retired U-Haul trailers are there too. I've seen 100's of old U-Haul trucks but still trying to figure out where the trailers disappear to.

Excellent observation driver. And good questions. Ive never even thought about where they might be disposing of all those trucks.

Probably not relevant, but I used to (in another life) do a lot of engine/drivetrain work for a large East Coast linen company, all of their truck bodies were made out of aluminum, so if an engine got tired you would literally pull it and stab a new(rebuilt) one in it's place and off they go.

They used to stock complete engines, tranny's and rears, sometimes they would drop one off in the morning and it would be back on the road in time for the late shift.

But the bodies, some of them went back into the late 50's early 60's this would of been around 1980.
