It is much harder to go from CB to ham without making some major social mistakes on the air (some operators might never forgive you, either)! These are two different systems that operate on different bands and in different ways with different rules and are nothing at all alike. Ex-CB'ers don't last long on ham radio if they can't obey ham rules AND FCC regulations!

Get your ham license and learn the RIGHT way to communicate. Then you'll understand our disdain the first time you listen to CB on the road. You'll never refer to yourself as a CB'er after that!
