They're up but so far I haven't seen anyone running the checkpoint. A fellow Munoz driver loading at the same place I did yesterday said he got inspected in Arizona not to long ago and they were able to pull his info from California, AZ and NM prepass to see when he crossed each weigh station.

Well if you saw what I looked like with short hair lol.......,

That actually started as poking my finger in the eye of my authoritarian obscenely rich parents. Even at a very young age I had a problem with authority lol I went from literally the straight A kid with the forced crew cut and pocket protector to the other extreme. I just wasn't going to be told who to be, how to act or what to look like.

How dare I grow my hair long, ride a Harley and play in a band and embarrass the family like that?

Poetic justice I think that of all my siblings I'm the only one who still doesn't depend on daddy's money in some way. Chaps them even more I did it on my own terms and more successful than the other 3 put together who did as they were told and have almost nothing but debt to show for it hehehe

Excellent taste in guitarists. Session work is very lucrative if you chose the projects you play on wisely and avoid the stuff that only pays scale. I've done a lot of that stuff over the years. That's where you'll always find the best and most versatile talent

So yeah. I get up and ready to go to arrive one hour early for my 0800 appointment when I look at my notes to see my appointment is 0700. Yikes!!

Got here right at appointment time and offloaded with no issues. Now running 3 short loads between today and tomorrow before taking Saturday and Sunday at my parents.

Yep one of my all time favorites. Quite a few good ones in the same vien that studied him too. Dan tohler, warren Haynes, Derek trucks.

Since cranky mentioned willie last night....if you like willie and like blues he did a blues album 10 years or so ago called milk cow blues. Brought in a bunch of folks on it like BB, Johnny Lang, Susan tedeschi and a bunch of others. Some good stuff on that one.

My one and only brush with that was doing some brass tracks for a local radio commercial at a small studio. Not much to speak of, but an interesting page in my personal history book. Having never really seen anything like that, being the sole performer for the entire brass "section" via a 32 track mixer was like watching magic happen. Unfortunately, I was good with sheet music but not improvisation. Therefore, a career as a performing artist was not in the cards for me LOL.

In my long hair days, the bike I was on is the Kawasaki that is in my garage today. So to get completely off track, except for one of my first rides being an Aeromacchi AMF Sprint 350 (google it LOL) I finally got started on Harleys as a product of the 9/11 terrorist attack, believe it or not. My wife and I had decided to spend a week out west with my sister-in-law and her family near Santa Barbara. Our return flights were scheduled for 9/12. So, after seeing that unfold on TV and knowing we'd be there some more days, we headed into town for a diversion. We rented bicycles and rode those all over. Upon returning the bikes, I spotted an Eagle Rider behind the bicycle place and we took out a softail for a couple days. Nowadays my wife points out I probably look more like an AB OG without the tats, than some kind of rebel biker LOL. Come to think of it, that could explain why the nice families around here for some reason avoid my house for halloween and fund raiser sales.

I am still in my long hair days.... :biggrin_2559: Less volume.... and not the longest I had... but still long.... :biggrin_25519:

BTW.... may have some time to catch up with you all today...
DSP couldn't find any driver in the east coast close enough to pick up that Friday load... and they gotta pick up this load cause it's a BIG donation going to terminal in OKC....
So, I'm still on it.... and DSP will pay me 2 days of delay cause I arrived here yesterday with many more hrs to drive... :biggrin_25519:
After checking the shipper's neighborhood and about 3 different ways to get there.... lots of restricted streets, too narrow for big trucks, vehicles parked on the streets, tight turns, lots of trees, 2 low overpasses, restricted NJ Garden State Parkway.... :biggrin_2552: I gave up and asked the shipper.... And they gave me an option used by other drivers... And all I can say is... why didn't I think of that...? But still gotta check their directions on Google satellite before I commit to that route... :biggrin_2558:
And I will arrive at 7:30 am to be able to turn truck around with less vehicles in the area...
The docks are inside of the building, right off the street, right on a curve... in NJ.... :biggrin_2552:
But shipper said they always have "security" guys there to assist and help drivers... Shall see...

Now... taking my 34 at this lovely place... :biggrin_25519:

At dock # 2 at my company warehouse in PA...

Folks here said they don't expect any other big truck today... so, I'm welcome to stay... GOOD! Cause there's practically nothing around... and this parking lot + docking area are very small...

Now cooking my rice and a few other things.... :biggrin_25519:
