We're in NJ. I think my husband mentioned something about leaving Sunday night.

 

Has anyone done the per diem plan? We're on the edge of a debate between doing it or not.

 

All the per diem does is give you a small tax break yo help you see more money now but it is a small percentage. You're better off to NOT do it because you'll get way more money back at the end of the year.

 

Any per dime payed to you by the company comes off your wages on w2 making it look like you make less than you actually do. Can make it difficult to get a mortgage or car loan because of that.

 

Per diem also means lower social security benefits when you retire. What are the pay raises like for student drivers? .30/mile isn't much and they advertise themselves as being in the top 5% pay range.Tyson will start you at .38
