    I understand term "isolation" in a incarcerated or Crusoe type of context, but I don't understand this. My best guess is that it's a pneumatic release or powering knob for a cab air ride system. If so, why is that not an intergral part of the cab suspension? Or is it that a cab ride is different depending on the load?

    As long as I'm suffering from hoof-in-mouth disease, this truck is listed as having interior PTO control but no external PTO. I grew up on a farm, I know full well what a PTO is on a tractor and what we used them for, but I don't understand not having a external gear or something to mount a PTO powered gizmo to- like a bush hog or spray rig pump or whatever. Did this originally come with an external PTO gear spline? What could you run with it on this truck? A hydraulic pump for a dump, wrecker or tow boom or something else?

    the knob is an electric cut off switch.

    run your cab extra's off an isolated circuit, battery, and not run your batteries down so the truck won't start in the morning. flipped one way you are isolated... flipped the other in the morning and the battery will recharge off the alternator thru-out the day.

    or???

    it could be wired to kill power like an extra key switch/anti-theft device.


    the pto isn't hooked up is how I read it. its got the "shift it in" knobby... but somebody took the pto, probably a wet kit, with them before they traded it in.

    Ahhhhh, I see. I thought it was... well... not at all what you explained it to be. Thanks for your input.

    As to the PTO, I understand that too now. It came with one originally or at least had one at one time. Thanks again for your response.

    I agree, though you could put all that I know about this stuff in a single sentence. That said, man that locker system in the headache rack sure looks like it would be a nice feature. They don't look very deep though. This same company had another Western Star for sale a few months back on E-bay. (Friggin beautiful!) I was trying to find it again. Not that I can afford or could make use of one. I jsut needed a good drool session I guess.

    lol - started to say something about "no place to put my loadlocks" when I realized it was a flapjack flyer.

    I agree, though - looks sweet. Only downside for me seems to be a dearth of locker space INside the cab. What I see (under the bunk, basically) ain't enough.
