I have been working for JB now for 2 years ACCIDENT FREE~!!! The terminal is in North H. MASS.
THIS PLACE HAS NOT GIVEN US A RAISE FOR 2 YEARS!! I think that is the MOST BOGUS thing you can do to a proffessional driver!! SAFE DRIVING DESERVES BETTER PAY!! I get $10.45 per stop, usually 4 stops a night, and ONLY .44 mile!! BOGUS CRAP!! WE NEED RAISES! -
Yeah buddy...
I was just thinking this, I wonder how many drivers are sweating bullets while standing in line to get on with JB?
... Truth is: they NEED every driver they can get into their equipment and the driver has way more value then anyone in their office
They must believe all truck drivers are as smart as a box of rocksSurfer Joe Thanks this. -
I could never work for JB, their safety record would drag me down with them. 1500 wk for Cali is poverty when a 2 room shack by the beach goes for a million or more.
Y'all need more $$ from JB for sure. They don't bid those dedicated jobs on miles. You should be getting a percentage plus overtime after 40 hours. -
Yes, but at will, like a temp.

Let's see if I got all this straight. You started this thread not to bash the company but most everything I've read is exactly that. So, i'll give my 2 cents. Is the hiring process right? Heck no!! I think its horrible. However other companies have the same process so JB isn't the only 1. Worst company in the industry? Maybe 20 years ago but not anymore. How many companies have regular rides with the CEO and the evp of the company? Our's do almost weekly. We have monthly and quarterly conference call with the ceo and other members of management and can ask questions or make comments on the call.
As far as making money, it all depends on you. If you are motivated and manage your time right you will make money. If your lazy and want to hang out at the terminal or truck stop then you won't. I make .45cpm and $20 a stop on a staples account in the northeast and average 2200 miles and 13 stops a week. Do the math. I also get 3 full days off every other weekend. Has my time at JB been all smiles and sunshine? Not even close. However the grass isn't greener on the other side. If I have a problem I can simply call our EVP and complain or other members of management. How many people can say they can contact or talk to the EVP or CEO because I can and any driver in the company can as well.
This company continues to get better so I will stay. It may not be a good fit for some and as I said before the process does suck to get hired but its worth it when you get in. -
I didn't bash jb hunt.. I actually liked working for them...
horsecrazychic22 Thanks this. -
So did I.

I had a buddy from CDL school end up with them. He did intermodal in the IL, IA, WI, MN areas. He liked it and stayed with them for nearly two years before deciding he wanted to be home every night and get Sat/Sun off.
