Before you turn up your HP you need to find out the HP/TQ ratings of the rest of the drive train. If your tranny and rears are only rated at 455 hp, then I wouldn't go above that.

The most HP you will get from a DD15 is 505.

The service advisor at Freightliner told me that they would put it on the computer and see what everything is and can be set at and we would go from there. Just wanted to get the h/p upped a little just to get better fuel economy. Right now it shows that I average 7.2-7.3

Your drive train is not spec'd for horsepower. It's spec'd for torque. You can change your horsepower but have the same torque. SFI trucks are spec'd @ 1650 ft/lbs.

Eaton has horsepower and torque ratings, hence the HP/TQ

From the spec sheet I saw from Schneider Finance from another member they order the Eaton FRW-15210B transmission in the Cascadias which is rated for only 1550 ft/lbs, not 1650.

Looking at some of the spec sheets for Detroits DD15 engines a 475/1550 rating was available at one point, but I don't know if it's still available, they change around the available ratings so much each year it's hard to say.

My gut feeling is that with that low-torque trans you'll be stuck with the 455HP rating unless that 475/1550 rating is still available. That's the thing with the trucks that SFI orders... they now spec them pretty much as cheap as they can go when it comes to the driveline unless it was some kind of a special order truck or one they took on a trade, which they don't seem to do much of any more.

I don't know if the ECM is set up the same way as the company trucks, it may have limits on useable power in low range, for example, or progressive-shift limits that could be changed... who knows.

Of course, they may password the ECM to prevent anyone from messing around with those parameters because it may violate the lease agreement.

Let me rephrase, most of the Premium Trucks are spec'd @ 1650. How's that? My trans is a RTLO-16913B.

Yeah I think SFI orders the 16913 in all the premium trucks.

Oh well I think I may just leave it is as I am only in this for another 9 or 10 months and then if I decide to stay then I will see what can be done. Thanks for all the advice.

Paccar is the name of the service that sets up roadside and maintenance appointments (no matter what truck you drive). Not to be confused with the make of the KW engine.
