1.45 to burn very little fuel? I would. Hell I used to run all over the country for .84 loaded or empty, and made money like crazy

 

It's not bad, there's some that drag a loaded trailer for less. Depending on what you end up doing once you get the trailer picked up it could be a smart move.

 

Its important where the trailer is located and what you gonna do after you pick it up...

 

I would look for a power only move that I could drop off on my route to sorta help with the rate

 

Maybe I've grown skeptical beyond reason. But I'm sticking to the traditional view: "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true." Maybe there's an extended timeframe or other hidden agenda. Like someone mentioned, there's some, quite a few, pulling loads for that or less. So, sorry, just doesn't pass the sniff test. I say, take it and good luck. I hope it's all true and becomes an industry standard.

 

I was quoted $2 a mile by a Great Dane dealer for delivery charges from the plant to my house. He said that would be the standard rate to any point in the country. I went and picked it up myself. A buddy ordered one delivered to his house and one of those power only o/o companies ended up dropping it 250 miles away in Atlanta. Talk about lousy service. The only way I'd bother with a power only paying $1,240 on 850 was if I could do load outs that made it worthwhile to finish delivery of the trailer and bobtail back home at a profit on all miles. I doubt it would be possible. It's so easy to bill $2 a mile for brand new trailer delivery and then pay o/o a $1.20 or less to do the actual work.

 

We get $2 per mile to move the empty trailers for the manufacturers and $1.50 per mile to Bob Tail back. That is for the load out options. If it is Power Only then $2.50 per mile for the trailer $1.50 for the Bob Tail.
