I've been with Celadon 2 months now with a lease thru Quality companies. My truck payment isn't terrible, I'm at 633.30 a week for a 2016 Cascadia E. It's nothing fancy just some nice and new to make money.

I joined Temp 1 out of orientation. A recruiter for temp 1 will come up and serve you a great line of bull to sway you in such as "oh our reefer freight is really growing" or "each load pays between $1,200 to $2,500 per load.

STOP RIGHT THERE! These are all lies! The nitty gritty is celadon lease is at war with company drivers. The most I've seen was $1,600 on a load and it was coming outta the east coast TOLLS and heavy 43,000 lbs and multi stop.

You can't make money here. Reasons why:

They are very good about sending you a load assignment that you'll have to sit on (2 to 3 days)and lose time on.

Loads are really heavy and suck fuel up.

You'll arrive on time and send in a good PTA get unloaded and still be left sitting waiting for a load.

They have so many little fees such as "WC/ORR" fee of $50.00 weekly that I've been trying to figure out what it is naturally when I call in I can't get payroll to save my life!.

Most loads are live load/unload and usually expect to be there a good 2-3 hours give or take just eating your clock up.

Celadon is going to make sure your truck payment and your insurances and they cut is there every week and part of your fuel is paid. If you get a check after all that expect to make under $1,000 a week on average $700.00 week.

The lease is not bad but Celadon isn't the best to use. I know Quality leasing out of Indianapolis,IN uses several companies and you can move your truck around with them.

Does anybody know of a good place to bring my truck I might actually make Lease driver money ($1,500 to $2,200 a week)?

Quality doesn't work with Landstar at this time. I was thinking Roadrunner or Forward Air? Any suggestions?

I think Jim Palmer Trucking is hooked up with Quality, but not positive.

Forward Air might keep you busy since they do lots of JIT freight to airports & sea ports. Probably need TWIC.

Do you want Van or Flatbed? Do you want to be dispatched or find your own loads? Do you want a percentage of the gross revenue or mileage pay?

Van or Reefer I could book my own loads or be dispatched. Prefer percentage pay

I've been seeing a ton of those Celadon lease drivers in the Lonestars lately. I can't believe so many people are willing to sign their life away and make next to nothing just to drive one of those ugly things. I bet the Celedon big wigs are laughing all the way to the bank with so many people falling all over themselves to rent a job and a tacky truck.

Sad thing is, today, more and more trucking positions force you to lease or not truck. Kind of like the parking spaces at truck stops, each year, a few more that used to be free, now you have to pay to park.

Can you imagine Walmart offering positions in the store ... IF you agreed to pay $100 week for your employee ID card and name-tag? Of course not, yet trucking companies are doing this more and more every year. They say they are "providing a great service .. ownership and own boss possibilities to drivers". Maybe, if everything goes perfect for the first 48 months and the company can keep necessary freight volume in a questionable economy.

Hey man that's great I'm glad it's working for you.

Just as soon as they get done buying others out (such as Tango) well see how fast that 200 miles a day turn into sitting for two days a week works for you.

For us lease guys keeping the company afloat, as soon as most figure out how they operate they'll either stay long enough to move the truck to a new company or just out right quit. Won't be long before celadon lease program will be a big game and it'll start to affect the company drivers.

Just today I'm reviewing my settlement and I have a trip unpaid and they charged me for a lumper. NOBODY is going to put up with that at all.
