The only thing good about it, and I am talking about the one south of the US-231 exit of I-40, is there's a Wingfoot shop in the back where I can get the best deal on a PM if due ($200), and Goodyear tires (I have an account and they are the least worst fleet deal out there). Mostly I stop there to use the scale, usually at times when there is a line for the pumps out to the street and trucks triple parked right at the scale. Therefore, crummy. The only other option is Uncle Pete's at the next exit. The Pilot is better.

The one at exit 144 or so down in Byron, GA is like that too. You get a free workout with any purchase.

Re Lincoln AL, TA bought the old Raceway truckstop (or something like that). Nothing special there, but easy parking with a big dirt lot next to it too. I was stopping there for a rest break coming back from TX a while back, when the GA welcome center was closed. Last time I was there, they were in the middle of rebuilding the pump islands. Maybe they went ahead and flattened the rest of the place "while they were in there." But I doubt it.

All the ABS-related violations are 4 points. I recall the VA inspector specifically checking that when I got my Level 1 last summer. Not really a big deal, but points is points. I'm of the opinion if it ends up being due to a loose wheel end, I'd like to know about that instead of cutting the wire. If I encounter high seas, I guess I'll have bigger things to worry about than the trailer brakes locking up and skidding.

As long as there's no slides on Fancy Gap, I'm good.

My smarter half was born and raised in Santa Barbara. She mentioned she knew the weather was bad when the waves were crashing across the 101 on her way to work in Ventura. Also a little settlement halfway there on the hillside, La Conchita. When it rains, the houses slide down into the valley. When it stops, they put them back.

Well... Parked at the yard in forest park. Gotta do my normal regimen of cleaning the truck, but the stuff in the fridge will need to be gotten after I've picked my fiancée up from the airport.

It's going to be an interesting ride down to Tampa... Two years of stuff to catch up on, and we've both changed quite a bit since then.

Both love each other to pieces, and still will as we've gotten each other to places we might not be otherwise. Better off for meeting the other. We both have that feeling that fiancée could change, but we aren't sure which direction.

After lots of soul searching though... I've got a plan. I love you guys and still want to meet you, but I think my time as a trucker is probably going to have an end date on it. I love the job, but there's more important things to me than the job. That does mean that after I move north, I'll be going back to school for a biomedical degree. It's a job where two complex fields merge. Engineering and healthcare; so there will be a great deal of challenges to rise up to and face. I enjoy working with the abstract and turning it into concrete and feasible ideas or products.

I'll be around for a while though. You all aren't getting rid of me that easy! :p
