There seem to be a few good l/p opportunities out there. Sorting through them and choosing one appears to be the hard part. The percentage based models with non forced dispatch seem like the winners to me.

Hey what happened to you Jacolbyhud did you get lost in Indianapolis or are still trying to pick out a truck it's been a month and no update on your progress. #### I may to go find out for myself if the lease deal with Watkins Refringerated can work for me.

Going to get info from the recruiter's (used car salesman) mouth next week. I noticed they are advertising aggressively, they have a bill board on I-4. I'm going to try my hand as a L/P and post my experiences on here since everyone else wont.

Doesn't look like a great deal to me. I would look at Roadrunner companies. Mileage pay has you over a barrel. The upshot seems you will probably get home fairly often if you live in their area. I guess their easiest way to find out is what their guys are grossing on a monthly basis. Find out the totals before all deductions. If guys are grossing less than $12k a month it's a loser. Good luck and keep us posted.TruckerNerd Thanks this.

Check out itaff's thread about Bruenger. He lays out his experience very well. Especially because it's mostly good stuffTruckerNerd Thanks this.

I will check out his posts. I live in Central Florida so Bruenger is out of the question for me. I don't want to job hop until next year. I'm hoping they won't have enough drivers so I can soak up the miles. Then when my credit improves I'll move on to some real money.

They are gaining ground with company drivers but i have spoke with so many drivers and not one is losing his shirt enough to say hey man dont do it. I also live in central Florida and think i can pull it off while getting a chance to see the house a little more often than if i tried this somewhere else im getting my E.I.N number tomorrow and im going to go ahead and start the process ill post my progress as it goes they have three trucks on the yard that are available from when they made the transition from sunco to watkins but ill be headed to quality to pick out something else because they wanted to much total for a 2010 pro star but they did say they only wanted 320 a week for it. They did warn me customer service isnt great in Indiana so be prepared for that anything else i learn ill post good luckTruckerNerd Thanks this.

I picked up in VA and as I was ready to roll out I saw an O/O with a Sunco trailer he approached me and asked where's the shipping office. I informed him and asked how are they running him. He said he doesn't work for Sunco he just moving the trailer and was given the option to grab a load. I dont think I will have to worry about miles if they using power only units. Just my opinion though.

Thats a cost analysts they ran for me off my first month as a company driver
TruckerNerd Thanks this.
