We now require that we get shippers and receivers info immediately upon signing confirmation. That way if it gets canceled we know who to call and confirm that load was actually cancelled. If not we will make a complaint through them about the broker. Who knows if it does any good or not. I guess if they get enough complaints it could have an affect.

I don't run TQL loads. I simply don't like working with them even tho they do have some decent agents. Had to put their phone number on block. I wouldn't even post a truck but look for loads and they would call me for the next few days asking for trucks there. Also some agents would call at 7 am with their fantastic 850$ on 350 miles in the northeast rates. Last time they called I told them I need $10,000 for a basic dry load and the guy was shocked. Ended up telling him to get his own truck and haul it for his price. Got me so heated I wished I could yank him out of his office chair and tie him to the roof of my truck as we go through low bridge clearances. So for safety it's better to block those scum bags. I do feel bad for good agents there that are very few, but they should find a more reputable brokerage to work for or start their own.
whoopNride and 6wheeler Thank this. -
I pulled one of their loads a coupe weeks ago, couldn't get one piece off the trailer at the cons and they wouldn't pay what I wanted to drop it elsewhere. Little did they know I was 15 miles from home, gave them a day or so to ponder where I was with the rest of the load. We worked it out in the end LMAO. Won't be hauling anymore of their crap anytime soon.

If your in the trucking industry you know all to well about brokers. Most of them that I have over the years have been alright. There has been some loads that have had there problems. I hope that none of you drivers have to put up with this Broker. It sounds like this happens more than it should.

The last load I hauled for TQL was maybe last year. They called in a panic. The other truck they had bailed on them. There was no negotiation or anything. The TQL broker just told me the price and said that's all of it. I was like WOW. He sent me the rate conformation with ALL the information which is also unheard of. It was going to the Navy yard.

Right now,(during this crazy slow period for flat work) Im amazed what these brokers are doing, keeping 35-60% of the linehaul, Because they can.
How do i know?
Im comparing overflow freight of mine(Customer based sent out to move thru 3pl). as opposed to the same lane the brokers are paying these small carrier-independents.
If you dont have your own freight, seems to me better off sitting this out, Hard to stay in the game when the same load to Newark,Nj paid $500 more back in May
Chicago to Toledo, (A lane ive run for over 20 years) paying $1200 for tin loads (242 miles),Brokers are getting trucks moving same material for $500 right now..
Sad affair, its ok though, The 3pl's Know the retaliation is coming.
You guys that work with brokers exclusively better Gouge their eyes out in the hopefully optimistic new yearrholl32 Thanks this. -
