Schneider vs JB Hunt sound about the same I wouldn't work for either one.
Old Dominion home everyday and $27 an hour working local sounds like a better deal.
Abf has a terminal in Carlisle I would choose working for that company before I would choose working for Schneider or JB Hunt.sb57 and flybynight12 Thank this. -

sb57 and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -

The Pros and Cons of Intermodal vs LTL are as follows
Pros
*No Touch Freight
*Left alone during your work day. I have literally gone into work more then a few times had all my stuff printed out and didn't have to deal with anyone in the office and went about my day just sending messages across the OBC without having to contact anyone at my terminal.
*No being on call have to fill different shifts.
*No bids. You get a shift you like you can't get bumped off it unless you are out of work for several months ie workman's comp injury or something to that effect.
*No dealing with doubles and triples although it's not a big deal after you do it a few times.
Cons
*You make about 10 to 15k less a year then higher paying LTL jobs.
*No chance at a pension like some LTL carriers that are union.
*Not Hourly payLast edited: Oct 19, 2015
Surfer Joe and xlsdraw Thank this. -
How about running line haul from terminal to terminal and never touching freight?
-
As far as the never touching freight part goes that terminal is line haul however your going to work the dock there for several years before you get enough seniority to have a bid run to the point you won't have to work the dock. So yeah your going to touch freight in most cases even in line haul. -
