I would ask for more. I drove a straight truck in that area making 16hr. I think driving a 18 wheeler in this area for 16hr is a low.
Is $16 hour good for starting wages?

Why don't you apply for a trucking company that pays more than that except for few starters
-
To me the no overtime part sucks. But I would take it and keep looking for more oppertunities. Money isn't everything. I wouldn't give me home every night off every weekend with my family job, for an otr job at ANY pay.
Lonesome Thanks this. -
go drive a concrete truck or a gravel, or combo gravel truck for a local company.

The Arbys in Dickinson North Dakota starts the cashiers out at $16 an hour. The Walmart in Williston North Dakota starts the door greeters out at $20 an hour even the retarded ones.
-
I find that very hard to believe. In Chicago those jobs pay less than 10

Feel free to call them to check. I already know -
$16 an hour? Swift pays more than that! And gives you about the same benefits. I would look elsewhere

I drove for ACT out of Liberty, MO and the pay was $16 per hour for a day cab, all local. That was 7 years ago. Are you planning on making trucking a career and need experience? If so grab the job. You will be doing more backing and going into tighter places then over the road drivers do.
Also if you are in Baltimore you can make a lot of money during the next riots. Get me a new TV -
Just realized those are in the oil boom area. Probably true, but who wants to live in those conditions?Lonesome and rabbiporkchop Thank this.
