Are b-trains 48 state legal?

    After reading 23cfr658.13, it appears to me that b trains are legal because they qualify as special equipment. The provision reads that the length exemption applies based on the coupling of a second trailer. Am I misinterpreting this?

    A truck leased on to co. I was with pulled a loaded b/train all the way to GA. but wasnt able to haul the wt. he was used to loading, he told us that so. states would not sell him a over/weight permit for the return trip he was only able to buy permit for a single coil to return with not the 3or 4 coils he was hauling up north?

    I know the 80000# rule still applies but it's the length issue that has me confused

    when dealing with something as specialized as this, it's worth it to spend the money on an attorney that specializes in US transportation law. A few hundred bucks for a consultant fee can save you tens of thousands.
