Got my cdl here & nearly 3yrs later still work for Prime on the company side.
IMO for a company driver, great starter company to get the required 2-3yrs for the switch to a career company.
Have been to all 48 states multiple times, gotten various hands on tanker & hazmat experience, have ran multiple floral deliveries, ran multiple dedicated accounts & gleaned insight on truck driving as a business from multiple fronts, made enough to buy a 3 story house with detached 3 car garage/apartment on 10 acres that I can pay off easily in 7 years at current pay rate & fill savings to a comfortable level every week for my experience, met my current girl & team driver for the past near 2 years, realized I have no interest in owning my own truck or leasing to a company, have a 4% company match 401k building up, & narrowed down what to look for in a career company.
Not saying I would stay here for life but if you do your job right, there isn't much to complain about as I accept it for what it is...also worth mentioning Prime seems to be a place where who you know (office politics) can go a long way.
From reading Western express/England/swift grief, I would not at all lump Prime in with them as a company on the company side of things.
It is becoming way too crowded at terminals though, especially Pittston.
I need to get a pickup for running around, not having to rent one for errands ect, any opinions Ford,Chevrolet,Dodge,Toyota? /^_^\
Cheers
Attention interested persons for prime.

Why would you stay with prime for over 1 year is beyond me.... you just need 1 year of experience to go local and make as much or more than you would at prime.Steel Dragon Thanks this. -

Because I do not jump into a pot of water without thouroghly finding out if it will burn me.
Because some jobs still do require 2-3yrs+ otr exp & I don't need an issue like that holding back my choices.
Because I make more & and am treated better at Prime then you may expect.
Because I don't job hop when minor annoyances pop up.Last edited: Oct 20, 2015

Mmmmm do you not want to sleep in your own bed?? Most jobs require to be 1)23 or older 2) 1 year of experience you must be out on the road too much to research hiring criteria. But that's not my business. -
Hazmat Inc. out of Buffalo,NY req 3-5yrs I believe.
Many AA&E carriers like Boyle, R&R, & AAT req 2-3yrs exp. -
Who knows what other companies out there that may fit our needs best might also req said experience?
Since we wish to team, UPS parcel linehaul team & Old Dominion is at the top of our list but they don't allow dogs & will never get on at UPS without 20+yrs working from bottom, so we are left with R&L, Nuway, & possibly USXp on dedicated account.
What companies in your opinion are 'best' for solo & also for teams?
