I worked for usx. Every single time I called breakdown it was 1+ hr on hold listening to a cheesy looped elevator song...several times the system gets overloaded and hangs up on you and you have to call and start at the beginning of the queue.

Usx trailers are piss poor....worse than swift.
Since usx does not pay for drivers to get inspections, drivers will push it on to the next driver....they have no motivation to be d.o.t compliant.
I spent 2 days getting a trailer inspected and repairs corrected, the Trlr axle was so freaking bad wabash had to replace the entire (both)axlesfrom another Trlr on the lot and swapped it to my Trlr. Breakdown pay is a crappy $50 and you have to beg them for it.
Usx is very systematic and poorly run. They say it's not forced dispatch but it it. Planners/dispatchers cry a river if you decline a load. I really have nothing positive to say about the company. Jman I would look elsewhere don't reward this ######## of a company the fruits of your hard work.

Honestly man it sounds like you work for swift. Everyone you call says not my problem. Nothing I can do about that. Or they just don't ###### do it. It's absurd. Unfortunately I guess there are enough people getting into trucking that these companies can treat us how they want cause they know they can replace us. Even if the next batch is always twice as bad as the last. They don't give a shat. It's unreal to me. It looks like by taking care of the drivers, the drivers would take care of the company, and EVERYONE makes more money. Instead of constant unnecessary turmoil and this never ending battle between driver and other staff man its bs. I just don't get it. I am pretty new too, only about 5 months exp or I would be off somewhere else as well. I'm counting the days anymore. I just hope the next company I work for understands that as a trucking company you aren't #### without drivers.

This is why I'll never work for a mega again. Ever. When I was at Gordon, every little thing had to go through something called OTR. Even a trailer wash. I couldn't just pay out of pocket. I'd have to put it in the Qualcomm, then have them tell me where to get it washed (really???) and then wait for 45 minutes until it was paid for. I can't deal with that BS.

I get that it's their truck and their money, but waiting 2 hours for a PO for a headlight so I can get reimbursed for it is insanity. I'll stick with smaller companies and not deal with the craziness of being told I can't do my job without my hand held.

I worked for USX for 7 years. Never again. Those 4-5 day PM at their shops? Taking your empty away for another driver then make you sit forever as you beg for an empty or a load? Get a good load and they hand it off to the train?? That aint how trucking should be. I went to Danny Herman Trucking. Long haul only. Average length of haul is 1400 miles, but most of my runs are longer. California turn arounds all the time. No NYC and have never been to the NE with them. Respectful office support. Respect all around. Time for you to get away from those clowns and get a REAL job for a REAL company

I ended up landing at Danny Herman also. The lanes are the best I could find. The trucks are specced out like they actually want the driver to stick around. They train which Ill get into later. The only issue Ive seen is that some of the schedules can be very tight and I end up getting up at 0200 to get them delivered in time, I can make that sacrifice.

Being held hostage there for 5 day PM service? Taking your empty away from you and handing your loads off to other drivers? Eating junk food?? Been there and done that and wont ever do it again. I will NEVER go back to that micro managing crap that took food away from my family's table!
