    When hauling a Broker Load thru CH Robinson what was the Biggest Detention and/or Layover charges added to your Freight Bill;

    Myself, I've sat on the dock 8 hours, (arriving minutes prior to the On-time appointment) Then waiting 8 hours to be off loaded. The pay: rcvd $25.00 per hour after the first 6 hours....

    $25 an hour after 2nd hour sounds about right unless it's your own truck then I take $50 an hour

    $37.50 an hour for six hours. I suspect they negotiated $50/hr with the shipper and skimmed 25% for themselves.

    Myself, i believe comparison & contrasts by what others pay at this point or any point in this single thread will obscure the facts: Whats the highest detention rates paid out by CH Robinson...that you collected? i.e. in other words...A Survey

    (C.H. Robinson is one of the world's largest third party logistics (3PL) providers, with 2014 gross revenues of $13.5 billion)

    CH Robinson, brokers millions of loads...what are the highest detention rates paid out & collected by you..list the amount?

    It's whatever you negotiate up front before you accept the load. I have gotten as much as $100 an hour after the first 2 hours from CHR. I have also gotten the standard $25-$35 an hour in cases where I wished I hadn't been so hasty to book without spelling it out. If you don't set the terms with CHR on the rate con before you book it you will have such ridiculousness as "after 4 hours $35 an hour" and they will say "that's what the customer pays" and basically you are screwed.

    I wonder what RicRoc might have to say about that. I once saw a TONU he got from TQL for $1,500 but he is specialized.

    I dont know about ch but where im at I negotiated 43,50$/hour after the first hour. I hear people whining about low or no waiting time pay when they dont even take time to negotiate it,or simply ask them company policy.
