Corn what??

 

De-Tassling. Back in the early 70's when I did it at the age of 11, they would load school buses of kids in the Summer and take us to corn fields..assign us a "row" and we would pull the top part out of the husk..or "tassle" thus corn de-tassling. Big Bucks for that time..$1.62 an hour.. Oh yeah..The belief is it produces a better yield the next year if planting a different type of corn..i.e. a hybrid. Our neighbors swore by it..All I cared about was the $$ so I could buy a bottle of BoonesFarm for e and my girlfriend..j/k kinda/sorta.

I believe someone told me they have machine for that now..

I detassled and pollinated corn for Cargill for a summer back in the late 80's down by St. Peter. Made about a $800 for the summer and was living high on the hog! Bought myself a new stereo with a fancy CD player.

I made a thread of the first is say 5-7 months. Still here, put myself on the lease waiting list. Going to try and run my own business with help through schugel. Until then. I was recently sent to California and have basically done all lanes for the refer division now being 9 months in.

 

Will they hire me with bad dac report
