A class B CDL allows you to drive ANY straight vehicle of any weight. All a bobtail is is a straight truck with a fifth wheel attached to it. There are some exceptions. You can't drive a school bus, any bus or any vehicle placarded for haz-mat without the proper endorsements.

The door can say 80k and not be an issue. The Class B description simply states vehicles with a GVWR of 26,001 lbs. or more and not towing a trailer with a GVW in excess of 10,000 lbs. It doesn't put a weight limit on you.

    This. Right here. Spot on.

    BIGZILLA Thanks this.
