Mega carrier/cheap freight company rants

Knight dry van get like 30 cents a mile the refer side I hear is a tad better. The port side is a joke. 15$ an hr local ....

 

I just love it. Every driver is making 60 to 80 thousand a year. I have never talked to one that isn't. I just wonder where are the low paid guys are at? Considering the average salary for a truck driver is 38 to 40 thousand a year.

 

I agree with Ruckie. If I didn't have better option when I started I would take the pumpkin.

I don't get it at all. People love to be ####ed I guess.

 

I think if you are running team at knight you can make 75 k but you have to split that with your bunk mate. Run hard and get paid lol

 

Imagine both guys didn't sleep enough.

 

When I teamed i slept like a baby but i did not if i was going to wake up again lol. You really have to trust your team mate for it to work.

 

I drove team for a week. I ended up driving 12 hours.... Backed into the dock, checked in, etc. Told the guy "hey man, you gotta get up"...He wanted me to drive to get coffee for him first. I called my company and told them the situation, either he's out, or I'm out, I'll go to a mega if I have to. It's safe to say his taxi driver didn't bring a coffee when he picked him up for his flight home. I couldn't sleep with this guy. He texted, swerved, I felt it all. We got pulled over because he was using two lanes... He told the cops "its much safer"...

 

I think for most drivers it's all about saving face. If they admitted that they are making a low wage, they figure that they would be looked down upon. It just sounds better to say that they are really doing well.
We know the truth, and so do they.

Wow!! That's why i only did for a short time i would hear a horror story of the driver crashing and the team mate getting tossed around in the bunk. Can only imagine that
