all trucks can be good or bad it depends I have never owened a Volvo but have driven a few and the are nice trucks and get excellent mpg but they are also a big pain when they go down as parts are hard to come by
Has far as to what I can speak to I have 2 06 w900bs and a 99 freightliner fld at the moment and have had a couple petes 378/379 in the past
The KWs have been the best so far as the cabs holding together and the Frightliner as been the best for the bottom line
I should point out my trucks work the oil patch and have a very hard life
10 months old Volvo truck.

I know there both the same company. I'm a car guy and a truck guy. I know who these trucks are made by and how their built. But when your looking striving for low maintnance high fuel economy, ESPECIALLY nowa days, you'll be looking into alot of things.
Who mentioned 20mpg?! -
There is no such thing as fuel economy with 08 and newer engines. No matter what truck..... Sorry but you talking about blue hoses and mpg gauges dont make you sound like a truck guy.
-
Dude, Im talking about the faulty thing with my old Volvo was a service hose. The blue hose. Whatu do, scan thru posts and push words that catch your eyes?
Yes, I mentioned MPG gauge like in the brand new W900s, like in the Volvo VNs, Like in the T2000.. Thats right, super truckers don't care about speed limits, road hazards and MPG lol. MPG = your money. the more MPG you get, the less money you have to spend on fuel. I don't wanna sound like a truck guy if a truck guy doesn't care about managing his money.
A typical trucker will buy a long nose with no aerodynamics, spend soo much in chrome and could care less how much money he takes home, as long as he has his chrome. I like show trucks, but its not my priority. My priority is money in my bank and running a fleet of trucks in the future. So yes, MPG is my biggest concern. And I dunno where you got the "08 engine" term. I said the new Cummins ISX with the Clean idle crap is a dog. Meaning its slow. The Challenger Thanks this. -
A guage is something that is used to ACCURATELY measure a quantitative value for some item. What you are reffering to is not a guage, but rather a little computer readout that ESTIMATES fuel consumption for people who are too lazy to figure out MPG's in the proper manner. Thosereadout screens, that you are erroneously calling a guage, are notoriously innacurate by as much as 30%. But, since you are a "Truck Guy", you just go on driving your fleece purchase truck down the road thinking you are getting Super Duper fuel mileage and just laugh all the way to the bank. I guess when you do that you will show all of us how big of idiots we really are.jlkklj777 Thanks this.

Eskimo pretty much told you whats up... This is my 3rd truck, yes its a long nose truck with not alot of chrome, i bet i get better millage then you, with my modified CAT.
A clean idle ISX is slow eh? riggggggggggggght
A blue service hose eh? rigggggght, so all my heater hoses are blue silicone does that make em service hoses? What kind of service?
The faulty thingy makes you sound very mechanically inclined!
You're also right, i dont watch for road hazards, or traffic, i just roll right through them.
Yes i have a scanner on my computer that scans for un-inteligent posts.

we have a winner -
Looking for anyone out there that has a 2007 volvo VT880 D16 that has had lots of problems. I have had the injectors replaced at least 8 times, turbo replaced numerous times, transmission and raditor replaced just recently. Plus other numerous things replaced. Warranty does not cover towing costs anymore. No I am not kidding any of you, I am totally fed up. Volvo won't do anything about it. I have hired a lawyer to help not sure what he can do.

The first problem was buying a VOLVO,T2000,or the Peterbilt fake T2000 (horrible trucks one and all!) You should have gone with the W900L and you'd be a happy camper in my opinion. I have a W900L with a 535 Cummins and consistently get 6.5 to 7 M.P.G. running 75+ M.P.H. W/70 to 80,000#. I've been a W900 lover since I got my first one in 1975 and I'll drive'em till I can't drive anymore! We have a leaser with a VOLVO and it has been a rolling wreck since the day he picked it up a the dealer!
