Now getting the load that was supposed to happen yesterday morning. Of course my reload had to be covered, so even better. Seems like the crappier a load offer is, the more drama is automatically built in. I was in a really bad mood when this one was offered and almost cussed them out and refused it when better sense seemed to have prevailed. I should have went with my first option.

The first "nice" car I ever bought (translation = paid more than $300 for) was a '77 Grand Prix. It had the sport package, kind of ironic for a 4,500 lb car with a 15 foot long hood and 10 foot doors. 400 Pontiac with the 400 auto that would lay down about 10' of rubber catching 2nd. My ex crashed it twice, 2nd time was a total. Easily in the top 3 of the many cars I've owned in my life, as well as one of many reasons that woman became an ex.

Edited to add: During the car shopping that landed the '77, the first place loser I looked at was a '75 CanAm Lemans. That one had a shaker hood like a T/A. I nixed it due to no a/c, or power windows and locks.

Nowadays, this is what being a motor carrier has put on hold for coming up on 5 yrs. Going 100% old school with it. Original flathead v8, 3 on the tree, 6V pos ground electrical.

It's ok, but nothing I'd go out of my way for. Like the Petro up the road, owned by the same people, they have taken the franchise brands to where they should be at company owned locations but never will achieve. It would be in the top one or two Country Pride locations, for what that's worth. Not my first choice, but like others have posted, usually spaces open 24/7. I favor the Petro when in the area because that lot is more level.

Speaking of which @TruckDuo when are you planning to visit there? I'll be passing thru this evening on the way to Strasburg (exit 301 I think). I'll even park beside you so you can see how loud you have to turn up your tv to cover up a reefer on a frozen load. Depending on whether I have to go straight in, and/or what I get for a reload, I may be coming back that way as well. That could either be tonight, Monday sometime, who knows.

Don't let these guys scare you. US-11 right there is a 4 lane with painted lines all the way across it for you to run over. No guard rails tho.

Luckily my experience with dal tile customers is the times are when they start receiving, not actual appointments but that's not going to stop me from reminding dispatch my policy on performing miracles.

The load has 6 separate orders, 2 for Knoxville and 4 for Louisville. But the delivery addresses are for the same facility in either city. Dal tile still produced 6 separate packing slip envelopes with 5 separate seals.

Figure I'll just use one between Knoxville and Louisville and toss the other 4 in my door cubby with my other seals to use them later on. Who cases that they say Mohawk Flooring? :D
