    Hi,

Our company is in need of one extra truck for short period of time , 2 months maybe.
I was wondering if I choose to rent a truck from a rental company are they going to provide us with Plates and IFTA stickers or this is our responsibility ?
They told me the trucks they rent are registered so I don;t have to worry about IRP but I could not figure out the plates and IFTA situation.
I'm not talking about leasing but a short term rental.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Why not ask the rental company themselves

My previous company rented trucks from Ryder at various times.....They took care of everything (IFTA etc.)
Just make sure that you don't get a base plate unit (no IFTA) if you will be going across state lines. All in all, the trucks that we got from them were actually in decent condition believe it or not.....

I rent a tractor from from Inland Kenworth once in a while. The pac lease truck I use has an IFTA sticker on it and is plated. I know with Kenworth, you have to turn in an IFTA log with your mileage and your fuel receipts when you turn the tractor in and they take care of everything. Not sure about Ryder, have never rented a power unit from them, just trailers.

We had some O/O in the past but this year I'm helping a friend who is available and wants to get some extra $ for the holidays.

    Hey!!!

    I resemble that remark!!

(and yes, like LugNut said, you have to fill out IFTA logs and keep your fuel receipts if you go interstate)

Yeah rental trucks are highway legal (assuming it's not Charlies rent-a-truck and carpet cleaning co.)
