@catalinaflyer what I meant by drug test is Urine Vs Hair, currently DOT does urine, so I'm not sure why a company would do a hair test, hair goes back years for Illegal drug usage. Not thah it applies to me but is for information for upcoming candidates. A buddy of mine described the hotel that Boyd put him at as the roach hotel with a strip club within a baseball throw in each direction. More or less I'm looking for information on their current training at Melton Transport.
Fresh out of TDI school.

Tmc is another good option. Not sure if they take newbies to. But of all the big flat companies, they seem to be the best. so worth a phone call to find out.
-
I have an offer from TMC, but I wanted to get my experience from another company and maybe head to TMC in a few years.

No offense intended, but that's just stupid. Learn how to do the job from a company willing to teach you the right way to do the job. If you plan on going there in a few years, it's stupid not to go there now. That way in a few years you will have built a solid working relationship and have a reputation of being someone that gets the job done. Your way, in a few years when you do go there, you will just be yet another new hirer and low man on the totem pole.BuckeyeKev, Orangees and Hurst Thank this.

I agree with Spider. If you want to work for a company and they want you then jump on it. Maybe down the road they won't want to hire you for some reason. Ya never know.
-
Orientation next to a strip club? My kind of company. I like companies that encourage adults to be adults instead of trying to hold your hand. As far as a roach motel goes, that's what your sleeping bag is for.Straight Stacks and Orangees Thank this.

I have mixed feelings about tmc, not sure I want to go there. I hear they are the puppy mills of flatbed. Still considering boyd.

See, I've heard the exact opposite. That as far as a company driver position goes, they are pretty much as good as it gets. Never having been a company driver I don't have any experience with any of them, but I see all sorts of companies out here leading beside me, and their drivers seem to be a cut above the rest. From professional appearance and behavior, to actually knowing how to properly secure their load.Orangees and catalinaflyer Thank this.

I have a buddy that worked for TMC he left due to they could never get him home.
Melton is good some guys I run into like them some don't due too miles yes the pay is high but the miles aren't what they thought.. As for the camera last driver I spoke to showed it to me it's not on all the time and at least on his truck he could turn it on and off.
Now don't forget you have Irish out of KC Keim TS and system -
I'd choose TMC over Melton on percentage pay alone.
Keim TS, TMC, McElroy, Builders Transport, Maverick.
