I was wondering what you include your contracts.
Detention.
TONU.
Layovers.
Other charges that might come up.
Broker Shipper contract.

I don't think shippers agree to any of that. A shipper is like a God to a broker. You will do anything to keep them and they know that. A stand up shipper will pay detention and TONU but I'm sure it's not on their original contract with the broker.

Every customer we have has either their own acc charges(fsc,stops-off,oor,re-consignment,tonu,detention,ect) or signs ours. Doesn't matter if we do it as a broker or carrier.
rollin coal and Ruthless Thank this. -
The shippers I work with have contracts that include detention ($50/hr after 2hrs), TONU ($250 each), layovers ($250 each) and reconsignment fees determined on case-by-case basis. If a shipper isnt willing to pay these charges then they probably don't have much concern for the driver or repeat carriers, and probably aren't worth dealing with anyways.
