I own a machine shop. Been flying under the radar for years with a 2000 F350 dually flatbed. I finally broke down and bought an IH 4300 25,999 gvw 26' van body truck. Its a spring suspension, hydraulic brakes, auto transmission, dt466 vehicle.
The previous owner was an expeditor and had icc/mc number, gvw, carrier name and usdot on the door. He was for hire interstate. I will be using this for local intrastate runs not for hire, hauling my own product to customers.

The way I read it I need: not for hire, gvw, usdot, and possibly company name. I don't know if I need the company name or not. I never get bothered with the F350 and it runs no markings at all. T

Since you will be operating intrastate you will need to follow the Requirements of the State in which you operate. Look up what the State requirements are for operating a commercial motor vehicle. For example in NY you are required to have business name and the letters NY after your DOT number.
