I just gotta say this as it's been bugging me. I'm dead set against the Freightliners.The Pete's are a big part of our branding and I do not want disposable trucks replacing them. I do understand that the autoshifts out perform the driver, but there's no reason to change branding. Btw, if we gotta test trucks, I insist on a Volvo 780, and perhaps then I'll be on board!

 

The good news is that unless you are planning on becoming a trainer we are sticking to the Pete's although more of them will have automanuals. Like you I like the 579's and am glad we are going to continue using them.

Winny, I disagree. Things tend to sneak up on you here. A lot is not announced, and then *poof*, it's standard. I don't want Freightliners, and if you agree be sure to send Matt an email. Communication is key.

Man, I had a Mercedes once and it equaled pure pain. Head gasket went and it took 2 months to get me rolling. Never again...

 

Btw, the trainer's NEED to demand more room. I'm crowded in a 587 by myself - what would I do w/ a 579 when 2 are shoved inside? Think and offer feedback drivers!
