Then there's your answer right there! Lol Besides, it's better to sleep next to her in bed, then on the couch by yourself!!!

well the trans shifts fine but the clutch feels soft and make a slight grinding sound when engaged. as far as the trans goes how long can they go? this truck has almost 1.2mil miles.

Regular fluid changes and a gentle driver they can go well past 1.2 million.

If your underside is getting oiled it can get you in trouble come inspection time. It's a hazard, so they say

My carrier bought the truck I am in now with 500k on it. I bought it with 890k mi. I am now almost to 1.3 million. My carrier has never changed the clutch,.. I've never done anything to it. Not even an adjustment.

Not sure how it was driven by others,.. but I only use the clutch to get rolling. Up and down shifting are done by feel. I'm guessing thats why it has lasted this long. Its been on my mind as to when it will fail. I suspect its not long for this world considering the mileage. I will ride it till it runs out of tracks.

    Edit:

I see you guys were talking about the transmission. Well,.. almost 1.3 million on a 10 spd. Shifter is a little sloppy,.. but still shifts smoothly. I had the fluid flushed and filled with synthetic shortly after I bought the truck. I did the same with my rears. It smelled awful when they flushed it.

That's a lot of miles for a clutch, 600,000-700,000 seems to be pretty normal for replacement.

Most of that slop is probably in the tower and isolator. I drove an old F-liner a couple years back with so much slop in it I kept smoking my hand into the dash everytime I hit 3rd/7th.

while at a stop and waiting to get rolling it takes about 4 seconds or so of ingaging the clutch for the stick to go in gear nice and smooth. but the whole time i get that little grinding noise in the clutch pedal
