You definitely have a great attitude and I'm sure whether you stay at eagle or go elsewhere you'll do great. Who knows maybe they'll get their #### together and you can say you stuck it out through the good and bad.
I have a question, your leasing through quality right? Why not take your truck over to another carrier? I heard there are 40+ companies, I'm sure there are at least a couple on the list that allow self-dispatch.

Cool. Just keep adding thru the week. Not having payment right away helps that first check or two. Get some lunch money saved up. Lol. I wanna pull the trigger. I'm just really nervous now.

Does eagle only do orientation out of indy or do they also do at other locations like carlisle pa? I live closest to carlisle pa and it would be more convenient.

Email to my favorite broker and his reply....

Im just looking for some input for the next couple months .....might get a reefer van in the coming months if the freight or rates are there....what's it look like at coyote for reefer freight thru the new year and the winter? What areas look good coming up? And better to stay with dry van or get a reefer? Thanks if u can answer from your perspective .....

Its tough, the reefer loads we have pay better obviously then the dry runs. There is however a lot less reefer loads so sometimes it can be hard to find loads. However for you I would say it would work well. You are very proactive in finding loads are great about making sure your hours are good for delivery and for the loads that you line up. I think that is the best way to do it especially to find the reefer loads. Right now reefer is a lot like van freight it has low volume across the whole country. If you are thinking about switching I would say do it! Most of our van loads can load on reefers as well as long as it isn't crazy heavy.

I need to get a plan for the next few months.....I like the west but not with winter coming ....you've been pretty mum on if there would be a reefer available to me and what areas would be best in the next few months with that or better to stay with dry van? California nevada and Arizona to texas or too the Midwest seem ok with a reefer I just worry about additional costs coz its allready hard as it is....U know since I started rates have just gone continuously down from maybe a little over 2 a mile to somewhere around 1.75 ....so im looking some input/advice from your side of the desk...THX.coyote should have sent U a load to denver(yeah I know, sigh) it's most profitable load I could find....have a good day miss Sheila

I was out yesterday for a procedure...
Well, as far as reefer freight right now it really doesn't seem to be that great, rates arent really any better than dry van , and you are right rates have just gotten worse and worse ... It is frustrating to say the least
As far as winter months, I know that everyone is going to try and stay south to stay away from the snow, but that's only going to make freight cheaper down there. The midwest is pretty good but it is mostly going to be short hauls... 400-600 miles or so. We can work you back to the midwest if you would like and try that? coming out of Denver will be cheap though when coming east just so you have a heads up, like $1/mile

Great stuff there Fr8monkey, and like you said, it is hard work to be successful at Eagle, but man you cannot beat the thrill of booking your own loads and making money on them. I loved running So Cali, yeah it was tough in the winter time, especially if you ran across WY, and if it was really bad there, I ran the 40 on in. But when I came to Eagle I found out that I had to play the game a little different with a dry van, ran a lot of Midwest to TX, and then TX to all points, now that area has cooled down some.

You are doing great guy, keep it up. It seems the flatbed side is doing somewhat better than the van side at Eagle, it seems.
